Illegal aliens operating an ‘organized theft ring’ were arrested after burglarizing a shoe store in Nevada this week, authorities say.
The bust unfolded just after 4 p.m. on Monday in Carson City near Lake Tahoe.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) deputy stopped a suspicious vehicle outside Carson Valley Plaza following a theft from a Famous Footwear store.
Two suspects fled on foot onto Wahoe Tribal Land while three more remained in the vehicle, DCSO explained in a press release.
One of the absconders was located via drone and taken into custody with the assistance of Wahoe Tribal Police while the other remains at the large, according to the latest available information.
In total, four suspects were apprehended and identified as Manuel Parra-Lopez, Rosario Quinonez-Garcia, Garson Arango, and Jenifer Lara-Vasquez.
They are facing a range of charges, including Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Burglary of a Business, Conspiracy, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Stolen Property.
Parra-Lopez, who attempted to escape, has also been charged with Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has lodged detainers against Parra-Lopez and Arango, who are both illegally present in the U.S.

“All of these individuals are part of an organized theft ring. They came to Douglas County for the
express purpose of stealing from our businesses,” said Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley.
“I am confident that the one individual who got away will be identified and arrested.”
The citizenships and immigration histories of the illegal aliens remains unclear at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
