President Donald Trump’s administration has cancelled funding for a Biden-era program to recruit Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) teachers after a report from journalist Patrick Howley, a Department of Labor spokeswoman exclusively confirmed to PATRICK REPORTS.
The federal government was sneakily getting Woke teachers hired across the nation through a “registered apprenticeship” program at the Department of Labor. The program is called the Educator Registered Apprenticeship Intermediary (ERA). Luckily, I caught the Feds’ scheme. The Trump administration was happy to end the contract for the program, scoring yet another victory against anti-white discrimination.
“Hi, Patrick…Saw your previous reporting on DOL’s Biden DEI program to recruit woke teachers from back in February. I thought you might be interested in this exclusive, which I can confirm for you as DOL Spokesperson: This contract with RTI was terminated by the Department of Labor last week,” Department of Labor assistant secretary for public affairs Courtney Parella told PATRICK REPORTS in an email.
Parella was referring to my exclusive report entitled “The Department of Labor Is Funding A Biden DEI Program To Recruit Woke Teachers.”
Parella was referring to the Department of Labor’s contract with the Research Triangle Institute (RTI International), a North Carolina-based USAID-funded organization. RTI International “launched” the ERA program with DOL funding in the summer of 2023, according to its website.
The GovTribe database noted: “Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) awarded a $12,991,018.20 time and materials contract to Research Triangle Institute (RTI International), a non-profit research organization, to promote the expansion of registered apprenticeship (RA) programs in emerging industries through industry intermediaries.”
DOL has already spent millions on the RTI contract, and was slated to spend millions more before the Trump administration cancelled the deal.
The ERA program is intensely focused on forcing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom.
“The Educator Registered Apprenticeship (ERA) Intermediary supports the development, launch, and sustainability of educator RA programs across the country by…Delivering training workshops on topics such as funding; diversity, equity, inclusion, and access; and registration requirements,” according to the ERA website (emphasis added).
“This project has been funded, either wholly or in part, with Federal funds from the Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration under Contract number [1605C2-23-C-0014],” according to the ERA website.
The ERA program was explicitly focused on DEI, according to an ERA document entitled “Improving Access and Retention for Black and Latino Teachers in K-12 Teacher Registered Apprenticeship Programs,” which states on page 15: “Defining Goals for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access: Schools and districts are encouraged to use data to inform the recruitment and selection process. Analyzing recruitment, interview, hiring, retention, and attrition trends by race and other categories enables targeted efforts. Data analysis can refine goals for recruiting TOCs, allowing for specific targeting, such as focusing on increasing the representation of Black and Latino male educators. This data-driven approach enhances the effectiveness of DEIA initiatives in RA programs in the education sector…New Jersey highlights the lack of data on pathways for teachers without a bachelor’s degree, which is particularly concerning for those teaching in private settings and preK, predominantly comprising women of color.”
Before the contract was cancelled, an RTI specialist tried to claim that the ERA program was operating in accordance with President Trump’s executive order against DEI. But the Trump administration was not having it.
“The Educator Registered Apprenticeship Intermediary supports the training of highly qualified educators using an apprenticeship model. We are fully compliant with our DOL contract that was modified in January to comply with the Executive Order on DEI and specifically bars any type of DEI work,” Jessie Stadd told PATRICK REPORTS on April 30.
Now, the Trump administration has cancelled the RTI contract. Students and non-Woke aspiring teachers all over the United States suddenly have a much better chance in life.
