Two illegal aliens from Venezuela have been arrested after fleeing the scene of a fatal crash on a Texas lake over the holiday weekend, according to reports.
The shocking incident unfolded on Sunday on Grapevine Lake, located near Dallas.
Authorities say 18-year-old Ava Moore was kayaking when an out-of-control jet ski carrying two women struck her from behind at a high rate of speed.
Bystanders pulled Moore to shore, but she later died in hospital after suffering traumatic head injuries, Fox 4 reports.
The women on the jet ski apparently failed to stop or render aid and were subsequently confronted by witnesses, however, other members of the their party reportedly helped the primary suspect escape in a vehicle.
“I looked towards the water and saw her and the passenger on the jet ski going away from the incident. They were waving toward their people, and you could tell they were trying to get away,” a witness said.
Videos purportedly shot in the moments following the deadly collision show physical altercations breaking out as the women attempted to make a getaway.
