A long and violent high-speed pursuit was ended by police who rammed a dangerous suspect’s vehicle and shot him dead this week in California, according to reports.
Officers responded to a shooting at a motel in Anaheim at around 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The suspect fled the scene in a white pickup truck with a passenger inside while an injured male found at the motel was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition, the Los Angeles Times reports.
An ensuing chase lasted nearly an hour as the suspect moved back and forth between surface streets and highways, blowing through intersections, and colliding with multiple other vehicles.
Eventually, police managed to successfully neutralize the pickup using a PIT maneuver as the suspect crossed a bridge in Santa Ana.
A KTLA news chopper captured the moment the truck slammed into a guardrail and came to a stop as officers emerged from roughly a dozen vehicles and opened fire.
