Conservative firebrand Valentina Gomez condemned the Islamic religion Tuesday at an event honoring Muslims at the Texas Capitol in Austin.
Footage shows Gomez making her way to the podium to speak at Texas Muslim Capitol Day wearing a hijab, before she removes it prior to speaking on the microphone.
“Islam is the religion of rape, incest and pedophilia, where they bow down to a stupid rock and a false prophet,” Gomez said in the microphone, as organizers scrambled to stop her.
“I will never let Sharia Law take over Texas,” Gomez declared as she was ripped from the podium, adding, “This is a Christian nation.”
Gomez later wrote on X, “Islam has no place in Texas. Help me to Congress so we can end the Islamization of America. I only fear God.”
Gomez’s protest comes as she’s vying for a U.S. House of Representatives seat in Texas’ 31st Congressional District following a failed bid for Missouri Secretary of State.
Her stunt is reminiscent of Christine Weick’s protest at Texas Muslim Capitol Day in 2015, when the activist similarly grabbed the microphone to condemn Islam, saying, “I proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ over the capital of Texas. I stand against Islam and the false prophet Muhammad.”
The condemnation of Islam comes as Texans have spoken out against a giant 402-acre Muslim mega city planned outside of Dallas.
