The Albuquerque Fire Department said they were dispatched to the call right before 6 a.m. and said the fire was brought under control within five minutes of the crews’ arrival, reports Stepheny Price of Fox News.
“The structure suffered damage to the front entryway and smoke damage throughout the building, the department said, and added that there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters reported,” said Price. “The fire department, along with the Albuquerque Police Department, said this is an active and ongoing joint FBI/ATF investigation.”
The Republican Party of New Mexico has since slammed the “horrific attack,” adding the incident is “part of a disturbing pattern of politically motivated violence that has plagued our country—fueled in part by the silence and implicit encouragement from progressive leaders who refuse to condemn these acts.”
Full statment:
Early this morning, the entryway of the Republican Party of New Mexico’s headquarters in Albuquerque was destroyed in a deliberate act of arson which also included spray painting the words ‘ICE=KKK.’ This horrific attack, fueled by hatred and intolerance, is a direct assault on our values, freedoms, and our right to political expression.
This is not an isolated incident. It is part of a disturbing pattern of politically motivated violence that has plagued our country—fueled in part by the silence and implicit encouragement from progressive leaders who refuse to condemn these acts. Their failure to stand against political violence has created an environment where attacks like this are not only possible but increasingly frequent.
“We are deeply relieved that no one was harmed in what could have been a tragic and deadly attack. Those who resort to violence to undermine our state and nation must be held accountable, and our state leaders must reinforce through decisive action that these cowardly attacks will not be tolerated,” said Republican Party of New Mexico Chairwoman Amy Barela. “We are working closely with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), local law enforcement, and federal investigators. We are committed to providing every piece of evidence necessary to bring those responsible to justice and ensure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We will not allow New Mexico’s broken criminal justice system to dilute the seriousness of this attack. The Republican Party of New Mexico will not be silenced. We will emerge from this stronger, more united, and more determined to fight for the people of New Mexico and the future of our country. Let us not forget: it was the Democrat Party that once supported the formation of the KKK, pushed Jim Crow laws, and defended slavery. Today, we see the same dangerous tendencies play out in new forms—attempts to suppress free speech, silence dissent, and use fear to control the political narrative. Our fight is not just for our party—it’s for every New Mexican who wants a safer, freer, and more accountable state. We will never back down.”

New Mexico State Representative Stefani Lord released a statement slamming Democrats for “consistently” failing to stand against political violence.
“The Democrats have consistently failed to take a strong stand against political violence, contributing to an environment where acts like this are not merely possible but shockingly frequent,” said Lord Sunday. “It is imperative that Democrats condemn such violence and take decisive action to prevent it.”

Moreover, Lord called out New Mexico Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez for recently telling her followers to “agitate.”
“Just yesterday, Teresa Leger Fernandez used inflammatory language during her speech in Santa Fe,” said Lord. ”’We have a three-prong project: legislate, litigate, agitate. You guys are part of the agitate part.’”
