The Trump Organization added a new “Trump 2028” hat to its online store, a brilliant troll that’s already rankling the hysterical left.
TrumpStore.com features the new headwear in traditional MAGA-hat red, emblazoned instead with, “TRUMP 2028,” in large font.
“The future looks bright!” a product description on the site reads. “Rewrite the rules with the Trump 2028 high crown hat. Fully embroidered with a snap closure in the back, this will become your new go-to hat.”
On Thursday, POTUS’ son Eric Trump showed off the hat on X, captioning the photo “#NeverSayNever.”
The hat was not received well by the leftist establishment, which interpreted its message as a clear sign Trump intends to run again, with Forbes concerned the merchandise arrives “just weeks after President Donald Trump told NBC News he is ‘not joking’ about the possibility of running for a third term, which is not allowed under the Constitution.”
Likewise, an exasperated Axios piece highlighted the 22nd Amendment, saying it “bars him from running again in 2028,” and that “Amending the Constitution is an arduous process that’s unlikely to succeed” — in other words, they’re clearly triggered by the hat.
Other anti-Trumpers were equally perturbed by the hat’s message.
Trump has made it a point to troll the left with third-term rhetoric at every opportunity, and it’s clearly gotten under their skin. Now, they’re essentially providing free advertising for a new Trump Store product promoting a third term, even though he’s only in the first year of his second.
And Trump isn’t just letting the speculation swirl — he’s fueling it. In an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker late last month, Trump said there were perhaps “methods” to make a third term run possible, saying, “I’m not joking. I’m not joking.”
“It is far too early to think about it,” Trump told Welker, adding, “A lot of people want me to do it…But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
Additionally, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon last month told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo he’s “a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again in 2028,” adding, “We’ll see what the definition of term-limit is…. This has been many years in the making, and we’ve had greater long-shots than Trump 2028.”
At first, the possibility of a third term seemed far-fetched, but it’s quickly starting to look like a viable prospect.
