President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday slashing prescription drug costs, arguing Americans unfairly pay higher prices than any other country.
At a White House press conference alongside Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump detailed his proposal with an anecdote about a wealthy friend who called him to complain that a weight loss drug only cost $88 in the UK while the same drug cost a whopping $1,300 in the US.

The Executive Order also aims to “establish a mechanism through which American patients can buy their drugs directly from manufacturers who sell to Americans at a “Most-Favored-Nation” price, bypassing middlemen,” according to a White House fact sheet.
The president told reporters the EO will eventually lead to lower Medicaid and Medicare costs, since prescription pharmaceuticals are over half of their total spending.

Elsewhere in Monday’s press conference, Trump savaged an ABC News reporter who attempted to ask about a jumbo jet Qatar’s royal family is reportedly attempting to gift the president, pointing out the jet is actually going to the Department of Defense.

President Trump in a Truth Social post Sunday outlined why the order is necessary since Americans in some cases pay more than 10 times what people in other countries pay on average.

For many years the World has wondered why Prescription Drugs and Pharmaceuticals in the United States States of America were SO MUCH HIGHER IN PRICE THAN THEY WERE IN ANY OTHER NATION, SOMETIMES BEING FIVE TO TEN TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE SAME DRUG, MANUFACTURED IN THE EXACT SAME LABORATORY OR PLANT, BY THE SAME COMPANY??? It will be interesting to see how Democrats and the lying media, who receive funding from pharmaceutical companies, will attempt to spin Trump’s latest EO.
