President Donald Trump called Saturday “a potentially great day for Russia and Ukraine as the “bloodbath” war moved closer to reaching an end as Russian President Vladimir Putin called for direct talks with Ukrainian puppet President Volodymyr Zelensky.
POTUS said ending the war would mark “a whole new, and much better, WORLD,” noting he “will continue to work with both sides to make sure that it happens.”
He added, “The USA wants to focus, instead, on Rebuilding and Trade. A BIG week upcoming!”
Then, on Sunday morning, Trump revealed Putin wishes to meet with Zelensky in Istanbul, Turkey, this Thursday to negotiate “a possible end to the bloodbath.”
“Ukraine should agree to this, IMMEDIATELY,” POTUS wrote on Truth Social. “At least they will be able to determine whether or not a deal is possible, and if it is not, European leaders, and the U.S., will know where everything stands, and can proceed accordingly!”
Taking a jab at the Ukrainian actor-turned politician Zelensky, President Trump added, “I’m starting to doubt that Ukraine will make a deal with Putin, who’s too busy celebrating the Victory of World War ll, which could not have been won (not even close!) without the United States of America. HAVE THE MEETING, NOW!!!”
Within hours, Zelensky issued a statement on 𝕏 announcing Ukraine’s desire for “a full and lasting ceasefire starting” on Monday “to provide the necessary basis for diplomacy.”
“There is no point in prolonging the killings. And I will be waiting for Putin in Türkiye on Thursday. Personally. I hope that this time the Russians will not look for excuses,” he announced.
The rapidly-moving updates signal the long-lasting war may soon be coming to an end despite the military industrial-complex trying its hardest to continue the fighting and drag other nations into the conflict in what could spark WWIII.
