Four citizens of Romania have been arrested amid an investigation into a slew of home burglaries on Long Island, New York.

On Wednesday, the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) announced charges against four females suspected of terrorizing residents across the island during the past five weeks.

The gang is suspected of breaking into at least seven residences in Nassau County between March 14 and April 15.

“According to Detectives, four female subjects did enter into multiple residences without authority or permission and proceeded to steal a large amount of US Currency and personal belongings before fleeing the scene,” NCPD explained in a press release.

The women hit homes in Elmont, Bethpage, Levittown, East Meadow, and Plainview, NCPD says.

The suspects were identified as Cristina Tanasie, 25; Alina Antonescu, 36; Ioana Miclescu, 21; Cornella Chiciu, 34.

All four are citizens of Romania, but their immigration statuses remain unclear.

The women are each facing two counts of second-degree burglary, while Chiciu is facing five additional counts of the same charge.

Customs and Border Protection, along with the police departments of Chicago and New York City, participated in the investigation.

In February, three illegal aliens from Colombia were arrested for breaking into homes in Long Island communities in November and December of 2024.
