A group linked to former Georgia Rep. Stacey Abrams was given $2 billion of taxpayer money to buy home appliances, in what amounts to an obvious vote-buying scheme.
Abrams spoke to MSNBC this week and told them that when she was leading a program called “Revitalizing Desoto” for her group Power Forward Communities in 2023 and 2024, she received $2 billion to buy home appliances like refrigerators for people in her constituency.
She described the money as a way to “invest the money of America to lower the cost of Americans [sic].”
The money was apparently part of a larger tranche of $20 billion that was funnelled through the EPA to leftist groups like Power Forward Communities.
“Stacey Abrams’ Power Forward Communities received $2 BILLION to be a pass through entity for Biden EPA’s $20 billion ‘gold bar’ scheme,” EPA administrator Lee Zeldin wrote in an X post recently.
“They reported just $100 in total revenue after their founding in late 2023.”
Steve Milloy, who served on President Trump’s EPA transition team during his first term, said the appliance program was a clear “vote-buying” scheme like the famous “Obama phones” initiative, which gave out over a million phones to low-income people.
“The EPA-Stacey Abrams grift revealed: @staceyabrams just told MSBNC’s @chrislhayes that the Biden EPA gave her $2 billion to buy people new home appliances to reduce electric bills. So Democrats upgraded vote buying from Obama phones to Biden refrigerators,” Milloy posted on X.
