NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” cold open poked fun at a reported clash between tech bilionaire Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The skit begins with James Austin Johnson’s President Trump in the Oval Office telling his secretary of State that he “can’t have you fighting with Elon.”
“I need you to be my good ‘Little Marco,’” Trump says, referencing a nickname the president has used for Rubio in the past.
Rubio tells Trump in the sketch that he doesn’t support Musk “having total access to our government.”
“Planes are crashing, and he keeps trying to fire air traffic controllers,” he claims.
Musk, played by Mike Myers, later enters the scene, prompting Trump to thank him “for at least wearing a suit this time.”
“Doesn’t look great, right? Billionaire but he at shops at Joseph A. Bank, it’s giving groomsman,” Trump states.
As Rubio and Musk begin to attack each other, Trump proposes they at least make their insults “good.”
“Something like Elon, ‘How do you have 20 kids, but I’ve never seen you with a chick, just dudes named “donkey dong” and “boner king?”’… And here watch this, ‘Marco, short and gay,’ classy,” Trump states.
The New York Times last week reported that Rubio and Musk clashed in a recent Cabinet meeting, with Musk accusing Rubio of not firing enough State Department personnel.
