A group of illegal aliens were rounded up when federal immigration authorities targeted a deli in Philadelphia.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) just released details about the worksite enforcement operation, which occurred on Feb. 27.

Four Brazilian nationals who were in the U.S. illegally were taken into custody at Jumbo Meat Market, ICE revealed in a press release.

“Worksite enforcement is a crucial component in ensuring the integrity of our nation’s employment laws. By conducting these operations, we not only uphold the law but also protect the rights of legal workers and create a level playing field for businesses that comply with regulations,” ICE Homeland Security Investigations Philadelphia Special Agent in Charge Edward V. Owens explained in a statement.

“ICE remains steadfast in its commitment to targeting employers who knowingly hire unauthorized workers, as well as those undocumented aliens who exploit the system. This worksite enforcement operation underscores our dedication to maintaining lawful employment practices and securing our nation’s economic and public safety interests.”

The Trump administration appears to be ramping up worksite enforcement operations amid a broader push to remove illegal aliens from the U.S.

On Feb. 26, ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) executed an “unannounced inspection of a CBP-bonded warehouse in North Bergen, New Jersey.”

Agents apprehended 16 illegal aliens working at the building.

On Feb. 24, ICE teamed up with a variety of federal agencies to serve a Notice of Inspection and immigration subpoena at a concrete contracting facility in Mississippi following a tip provided to law enforcement.

At least 18 foreign workers fled from the building but were later rounded up following a drone-assisted manhunt.

While two of the captured employees had immigration court dates and work authorization, the other 16 were found to be in the U.S. illegally.
