Jeff Metcalf, the father of recently-killed Texas teenager Austin Metcalf, had the police called on him for showing up to a press conference on Thursday held by representatives of his son’s alleged murderer Karmelo Anthony.
During the presser, one of Anthony’s advocates named Dominique Alexander singled out the grieving father, saying it “was disrespectful” for him to show his face and that it “shows the character” of Jeff Metcalf.
“He was not invited,” Alexander told the audience. “He knows that it is inappropriate to be near this family, but he did it. And, so I say to people, actions speak louder than words. What he has failed into is the political operatives that wanna make these thing a political thing of hate, yet bigotry and yet racism. We have conservative operatives that have been posting nonstop about this case.” [sic]
Police officers eventually arrived on the scene to speak with Mr. Metcalf about his presence at the media conference.
Alexander’s non-profit activist group, the Next Generation Action Network (NGAN), called the cops on Austin’s father, according to ABC 8.

Investigative journalist Sarah Fields was at the press briefing, posting an image of Jeff Metcalf and claiming he was “refusing to leave.”
The Post Millennial reported, “Jeff Metcalf shook the officer’s hand and left the scene without incident.”
Fields also pointed out Alexander, who is the president of NGAN, is a convicted felon who spent two years in jail for violating his probation after he caused a brain injury to his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son in 2009.
Alexander blamed Fields by name for Jeff Metcalf’s presence at the conference and showed printouts of her social media posts about the deadly stabbing.
“These are the types of lies,” he said while holding up the printouts. “She’s getting millions of views on this. Sarah. She’s even came after me. She’s even said all of those things.” [sic]
Alexander continued, “Because these racist bigots try to prevent us from standing up for our baby, our boy, he should be afforded the same rights that Kyle Rittenhouse had, Daniel Pennda [Penny] and all of the people who have claimed whatever their defense was. He should be afforded the same right. Nobody in the public media has one video camera, but we have the video of Kyle Rittenhouse with a AK-47 shooting three people in the back. We got that!” [sic]
Of course, Rittenhouse used a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 and did not shoot anyone “in the back,” as footage clearly shows.
Speaking about the Anthony family raking in nearly half a million dollars in fundraising money, Alexander stated, “Since they [sic] trying to come for us, I call for the community’s overwhelming support for this fund. The disinformation that was put out was literally deliberate to prevent you from helping this family.”
The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that the Anthonys recently moved to “an exclusive gated community in a $900,000 house – despite claiming to have limited financial means.”
A neighbor told the outlet the family “just purchased a new vehicle,” saying the father “got a new car.”
“If you look at the license plate, it’s got a paper tag and it says it expires June 4,” the anonymous neighbor said.
Prosecutors allegedly grilled Karmelo’s father about why he would not spend some of the $459,000 raised so far to pay the $1 million bond set by the judge.
However, Karmelo’s mother during the press event alleged her family has “not received a single dime from the GiveSendGo fundraiser.”
“We were just notified yesterday that we could begin to withdraw funds…â she added.
The website justiceforkarmeloanthony.org where the teenager is described as a young man who “works hard, stays out of trouble, and carries himself with dignity” is also being used to sell t-shirts reading, “#Justice4KarmeloAnthony.”
Getting wrapped up in a nationally covered murder case is not an example of staying out of trouble.
The website also bizarrely contains an anecdote about Karmelo allegedly saving a kid from drowning.
“On May 15, 2021, Karmelo saw a child drowning. Without hesitation, without thinking twice about his own safety, he acted. He didnât wait. He didnât panic. He saved a life. That moment showed not just braveryâit showed a deep sense of honor and selflessness that few can understand.”
The tragedy is becoming a divisive saga thanks to leftist political activists using the murder to attack conservatives who are simply calling for justice after a young man was taken too soon.
