Former Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) issued a warning to proponents of the Trump administration’s recent deportations of foreign students who took part in protests against Israel.
“President Trump announced earlier in his second term that foreign students who engaged in illegal activity would be deported,” Paul wrote on 𝕏. “Most people agreed with the policy. But then his Department of Homeland Security began showing up with masks on and in plainclothes to arrest and deport legal foreign students who broke no law but held views the Administration doesn’t like. This is a slippery slope that will backfire on those who support it.”

In January, Trump signed an executive order titled, “Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism,” ordering the government to examine all criminal and civil actions available for fighting anti-Semitism.
Soon after the executive order was signed, the Trump administration warned “resident aliens who joined in the pro-jihadist protests” that their student visas would be canceled and they’d be deported.
“We gave you a visa to come and study and get a degree, not to become a social activist that tears up our university campuses,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a press conference on Thursday.
As Paul mentioned, DHS has been “showing up with masks on and in plainclothes to arrest and deport legal foreign students who broke no law” as seen in the pair of videos below:
The former Texas congressman also pointed out the government appears to be fine with foreign students protesting America, but draws the line at protesting Israel.
The Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution states all persons within American jurisdiction are afforded constitutional protections, and the Supreme Court has repeatedly affirmed that non-citizens in the country via green card or student visa are entitled to the same fundamental rights.
While the current administration is helping free America from globalist control, this anti-free speech move by the Trump White House is troubling and should be condemned by the MAGA movement.
