President Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan has promised to “bring hell” to illegal-sheltering sanctuary cities as part of his mass-deportation efforts.

In an interview with Breitbart News, Homan discussed at length his efforts to get sanctuary cities to toe the line on deportation.

“Well, we’re going to Boston… I made a comment at CPAC: I was gonna go to Boston and bring hell with me,” Homan responded.

“I meant it. I said it,” Homan continued, adding that his CPAC comment should be uncontroversial because he made it “right after I talked about nine child sex predators that ICE took off the streets of Massachusetts in a short timeframe.”

“So when I say I’m coming to Boston, bringing hell with me, yeah, I’m bringing hell to illegal aliens that raped children,” Homan said. “So I stand by what I said, I meant what I said, and I’m gonna do it.”

Homan was scathing about the refusal of Democrat governors, mayors and city officials to aid in the deportation of dangerous illegal immigrants.

“Every elected mayor, every elected governor, every elected city council person, what’s your number one job? What’s your number one responsibility? Protection of their communities. So why would you not help us remove public safety threats to neighborhoods?” he asked.

“That’s your number one moral responsibility.”

“I don’t get it, but I just think they’ve lost their mind, I think politics over public safety is politics over common sense. I can’t think of any other reason.”

Last week it was announced that the number of illegal immigrants officially in detention reached a new record during the first month of President Donald Trump’s second term.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that the number of immigrants in detention hit 43,759 on 23 February.

This is the highest number since 2019, during Trump’s first term, when 55,654 immigrants were held in detention. Temporary shelters were erected to house a surge of immigrants at the southern border.

Of the nearly 44,000 immigrants now in custody, just under half have a criminal record.

The largest number of migrants are being held in Texas; although the single largest facility is the Adams County Detention Center in Natchez, Missouri.

The figures also revealed that 52% of detainees were arrested by ICE rather than Customs and Border Protection, a clear sign that the Trump administration’s interior deportation policy is taking precedence. ICE arrested 11,755 and CBP arrested 10,198 of the 21,953 people put into detention by ICE during January 2025.
